St. Sarang Convent School celebrates its 4th Foundation Day with the theme ‘Udaan’

St. Sarang Convent School marked its 4th Annual Foundation Day with a vibrant and well-coordinated cultural ceremony on the school premises. This year’s theme, “Udaan,” symbolised confidence, aspiration, and the courage to rise beyond limitations. The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and a prayer, followed by an introduction to the school’s journey and the significance of Foundation Day.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Col. Tahir Mustafa (Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi) emphasised that every child possesses unique potential and must not be confined to academic scores or career-centric expectations. “Education must nurture ethics, character, compassion, and the spirit of service,” he said. He urged parents to understand their children’s interests, guide them accordingly, and incorporate environmental awareness, national unity, and social responsibility into the learning process.

Guest of Honour, Dr. M. Mushahed Alam Rizvi (Dean, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), highlighted that true education moulds students into responsible, sensitive, and socially aware individuals. He commended the school for combining academic learning with cultural values, social consciousness, and practical understanding.

The cultural presentations throughout the day captivated the audience. The Fancy Dress Competition showcased young children dressed as fruits, vegetables, natural elements, and representations of Indian culture. Performances on cleanliness, pollution control, and environmental conservation delivered impactful messages. A satirical play titled “The Reality of English Education” critiqued societal misconceptions about schooling and parental priorities. Another theatrical act, “AI vs Humanity,” drew attention to the irreplaceable nature of human emotions despite technological advancement.

The “Nari Shakti” performance, presented by girl students, celebrated women’s empowerment, equality, and social contribution. The play “Parents’ Class” humorously depicted the dynamics between parents and children, stressing communication and responsibility. A nukkad natak on the adverse effects of excessive mobile-phone usage urged balanced and mindful use of technology.

School representative Mr. Husain Saeed appreciated the collaborative efforts of teachers, parents, and students, stating that the institution’s progress depends on the moral, intellectual, and creative growth of its learners.

The programme concluded with a prayer by the school’s patron, Arif Billah Sheikh Abu Saeed Shah Ehsanullah Muhammadi Safavi, seeking peace, prosperity, and success for the students and the nation. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with a sense of unity and pride.
